Health experts are urging people to consider face shields as an additional protective piece on top of a mask

“Theoretically, you should protect all the mucosal surfaces, so if you have goggles or an eye shield, you should use it” said Dr. Anthony Fauci in an interview with ABC earlier last month.

In an interview with Good Housekeeping released late-last month, Second White House Coronavirus Task Force coordinator Deborah L. Birx MD explained, “The thing about the face shields — we think that they could protect the individuals and that it would decrease the ability for them to touch their eyes and spread the virus.”
